So the news in today is that Samir Nasri has finally signed for Manchester City.
This worries me, not only as an Arsenal fan, but as a football fan. Manchester City are coming in, buying up everybody, then ditching them in a season or two (Bellamy, Adebayor, Santa Cruz etc) but nobody can afford their wages so they end up in limbo.
Do footballers not learn from others mistakes? Does Nasri not see the signings already made and think he could be on the trash heap after one season? (currently Manchester City have these midfielders: Adam Johnson, James Milner, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Gareth Barry, David Silva, Nigel de Jong, Vladimir Weiss, YaYa Toure, Abdul Razak...Nasri will be the 10th) Do you want to play football or be well paid? or... go to a club and do both... admittedly he would earn less at another club, but still...
I often have the conversation about player loyalty with people. I hear 'He's French, why should he be loyal to Arsenal?'... well let me tell you. Nasri broke his leg in training for us in July 2009... who paid his wages for the next 8 months... Arsenal. Thats why you should be loyal.
